why i thon
I THON to make a difference. I lost my mom Maureen Merola to Glioblastoma Multiforme, a terminal brain cancer. I know what it is like to be a caretaker, I know what it is like to feel helpless as you watch someone you love pass, but most importantly, I know how important it was that I felt a community behind me supporting my family. I want to be the community these families feel supported by.
Phi Beta Lambda was my support system when I needed one. My favorite memory was coming back to college and having a community that lifted me up. I am so excited to be a THON chair and be a part of a community that makes a difference.
